Occupy Democrats Parody

There was a time where advertisers exploited a captive audience with ads specifically designed to agitate and annoy viewers.  It was well known to the marketing agencies that tormented a generation of Mr. Whipple ads for Charmin tissue.

With the advent of the VCR audiences were given a choice to fast forward through the especially and intentionally obnoxious ads designed more to get attention and be remembered than to entertain.  And now advertisements sometimes outperform the content of the programming they interrupt.  Plenty of folks that are otherwise only mildly interested in the spectacle of the Superbowl will tune in just for the high budget and often wildly entertaining ads that are made are given production value to equal or exceed the exorbitant cost of those coveted spots.

Of course we pick our own favorites on from the broader range and entries which are selected for all the important attributes like shock, awe, humor, message and overall entertainment.

We’ll pick our top choices but you can also help us put them in order by rank, and perhaps submit any of your personal favorites that we somehow overlooked.

I remember as a young lad watching these LIVE TV ads for Bay Shore Chrysler Plymouth.  Apparently Ralph Williams was replacing Chick Lambert with a younger person to do the TV commercials, so Chick decided to go out on his own terms. This did air in San Francisco, of course just the one time:

Nothing beats the glory of Live TV spots gone seriously wrong!

Mikado Advertisement that’s bound to trigger the American Feminist audience.
Another gem from Mikado!

And of course some solid credit is due to the original “Make 7… Up Yours” advertisement.
