After years of abuse by the power-drunk tyrants that infest the halls of 1 Meta Way in Menlo Park, things had seemed to calm down considerably. At the time when the regime Zuckerberg blamed on all his horrible behavior from 2017 through COVID had finally been successfully expelled from the White House, Eric Hanson had been enjoying an uneventful period of access to friends, family, professional contact and fans on Facebook.
Just over seventy pages that served as clip, meme and link libraries for a variety of subjects were generally left alone. Several groups also seemed a bit more calm including some used professionally for communication between an HOA and community members operated smoothly without any hitches or glitches.

A series of at least 32 in count ranging from 2017, seemed to have finally stopped. It appeared as if Zuckerberg’s claims of regret for complying with government and agency directed censorship was genuine and heart felt. The last bit of bullying occurred in mid January of 2023. So Eric had every reason to believe that Facebook was restored to the original concept of allowing reasonable discourse as it had from 2007, when Eric first joined Facebook, through 2016 after they realized that too much free expression threatened their grip on election outcomes.
On June 1, 2025, without any warning, Eric Hanson’s entire profile along with over 70 pages and multiple groups was suspended for unspecified “account integrity” concerns that to date have not been disclosed. What had felt like a return to freedom to participate in conversations and promote music events and new releases was betrayed by an instant, irreversible shutdown. According to the announcement, there was one—and only one—opportunity to appeal this decision, which was promptly denied with no recourse to correct or identify the reasoning behind this cruel and irrational punishment for an unspecified “crime” of opinions or so-called “integrity” violations
As a result, connections with 800 friends, established before and during his time on Facebook, were, for all intents and purposes, instantly severed. The only analogy would be an irrational mother taking a “you’re grounded” punishment to an extreme—from a week, to a month, to a whole year, and then escalated to “you’re not allowed to play with your friends forever, and that’s final!”
In addition to the damage of disconnection which, with absolute certainty resulted in many suicides* during the whole COVID lockdown which made social media the ONLY path to interact and “play” with friends outside, there’s also a defamatory aspect. Whenever any normal and reasonable person hears that someone has been removed from a social media platform, they invariably assume the individual expelled from such a major and central hub of online interaction, must have been doing outrageous conduct, and basically “had it coming.”
In Eric’s case, we have no way to review the content to form our own opinions, but he maintains that his only “conduct,” apart from sharing new music and a few opinions via links, consisted of mild challenges with a touch of Bugs Bunny-style sarcasm to hateful rants from unhinged leftists.

The Marxists who reliably defend censorship with gaslighting about “private companies” revealed their true feelings once Twitter became truly private, as Elon Musk pried control from an army of infiltrating Communists, proven to have been working hand in hand with agencies and a fraudulent Biden administration, illegally serving Obama’s agenda and third term via autopen.**
Another frustration was that this shocking suspension came at a time when a major hard disk failure had caused significant stress and anxiety over lost data. Since the most treasured family events and photos shared on Facebook with friends served as a form of backup and chronology, trading some privacy concerns for access to friends, family, and professional contacts, a major investment made over nearly two decades was destroyed on Facebook’s whim. The opportunity to “download data” offered provided only basic text data about the profile account, with no access to travel albums or live performances, which are now presumed to be permanently lost by a wildly irresponsible and uncaring website that had been masquerading as a “platform” and even a “better internet” since 2007.
Few would have predicted that building an identity on the largest social media platform on the planet would grant the worst tech tyrants the power to erase family photos, professional branding, diaries, and address books at the whim of some staffer endowed with digital superpowers to effectively erase lives.
Clearly, placing any trust in a platform originating with a “hot or not” tool exploiting profile picture uploads by a man-child Zuckerberg was a mistake. At the time most enrolled, they could not have anticipated the grotesque fascist behavior that makes the old “hot or not” seem, by comparison, the height of dignity.
Eric asks that we share his story and is fully prepared to participate in any class action or other forms of litigation for what, whether deemed “legal” or not, is extremely unfair and damaging treatment by Meta. If you’re able to offer legal services or can refer Eric to a qualified agency or attorney, please leave a comment or contact Eric Hanson directly at eric.hanson@elh1.com

* A 2020 survey found 83% of people used social media to cope with lockdown-related stress, suggesting that losing access could have severed a vital source of connection. While no studies directly link Facebook account suspensions to suicides, the documented mental health toll of isolation during lockdowns—combined with social media’s role as a primary means of connection—suggest Definitively, the sudden loss of access to friends and community could have devastating effects, particularly for those already vulnerable.
